Theory of Natural Man A fundamental divide between society and human nature Humans were good in the state of nature He has a positive opinion of people in a primitive and animalistic state Humans are corrupted by society and civilization- become hooked Humans have to comply the “volonté générale“ that is geared to the good of the nation
