Review! Brain Dump • Take out a sheet of paper • With your elbow partner, write down as many things as you can remember about the Northeast region *Hint: Think about physical features, climate, natural resources, landmarks, and your poem!
Think-Puzzle-Explore • Make sure you have 1 sheet of printer paper • Draw 1 large square • Draw a 2nd square INSIDE of the 1st square • Draw a 3rd square INSIDE of the 2nd square Questions: • What do you THINK you know about the Midwest? Write your answer inside the FIRST square • What QUESTIONS OR PUZZLES do you have about the Midwest? Write your answer inside the SECOND square. • What does the Midwest make you want to EXPLORE? Write your answer inside the THIRD square.
Did someone say Breadbasket? Cool fact: The Midwest received its nickname, “Breadbasket of America” because of all of the wheat and oat products it’s able to produce from the fertile soil!
Go, Go Scavenger Hunt! • Make sure you have a partner and copies of the book (1 copy per pair) • When I say “GO!” look at the questions on the scavenger hunt form • Find the answers in the copies • Write your answers on the form

Postcard Time! • Choose a state or landmark • DRAW that state or landmark on the front of the postcard • Choose someone/something to write to • PRETEND that you visited that state or landmark and write what you saw and learned • Create a fake address to send the postcard to and write it on one side on the back
20-Fact Challenge • Take out a sheet of paper • When I say “GO!” you will have 3 minutes to write as many things as you can remember about the Midwest • When I call time, you will then have 1 minute to work with your elbow partner. Think of more facts to reach at least 20 facts!
