Mayagüez 2010 • 21st Central American and Caribbean Games (July 17 – August 1, 2010) • Department of Homeland Security designated this high profile event as a Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) • Several federal agencies were involved in this event • Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was designated as the lead federal agency

  14. Mayagüez 2010 • PR Environmental Quality Board Task • Air monitoring at the opening and closing of the Games and also during several events. • Respond to environmental and WMD incidents

  15. Mayagüez 2010 • General air monitoring prior to occupancy at two of the three villages designated for housing (Mayagüez and Añasco) • Air monitoring using remote telemetry (AREA Rae) for: • Volatile Organic Compounds • Chlorine • Ammonia • Gamma radiation
