Aims and Objectives……. • To provide an accessible, affordable counselling service in the community for those URGENTLY in need of professional counselling support, regardless of circumstances.
Service users…………. - Self referral - Occupational Health & HR advisors • Health Professional • Social Work / Criminal Justice Teams • Voluntary& Community groups & Faith Networks • Private & Public Sector • Education & FE • Emergency Services .
Service user support needs …….. • ‘MATCHED’ support interventions to help overcome trauma, manage life transitions, resolve major problems or fears which prevent them leading healthy productive lives within their family system, workplace or community. One simple call or email – saves hours, staff and lives.
Our Services……………. • Generic counselling Support services • Employee Assistance Programme • Trauma:- Critical incidents; e.g. fatal accidents; sudden death, terrorist or environmental threats. • Child & Adolescent Counselling Services Training & Employer support • Military personnel in transition – counselling/training • Training Services; Motivational ,Building Confidence & Self Esteem, Workplace Bullying, Mergers and Transitions, Major Incident Training, Mindfulness, Understanding Trauma, Working with Bereaved Children, Conflict Management, Mediation.
Capacity ……….. • The team of 85+ volunteer counsellors managed by Counselling Director • Counsellor volunteers all have ‘Core’ Profession • Associate Specialists- Post grad. • Range counselling approaches and interventions • Outreach support- GEOGRAPHIC SPREAD • Trainers and Assessors • Holistic support.
Achievements……………… • Crisis work has featured 3 times on BBC Children in Need ( National & Scottish BBC • Social Enterprise Mark • Paul Harris fellowship – Rotary International • Service Above Self – Rotary UK & NI • Bill Paterson Community Council Award 2001/2/3/4 • Nominated Provost’s Award Renfrewshire Council 2005 • IIP Pilot ,SQA Accreditation & ILA • Employee Assistance Programme - – launched September 2002 in Paisley Town Hall. • Health case study in Scottish Government Third Sector Action Plan 2008/2011
