  4. Example 1 Write the phrase two dollars less than the price of a movie ticket as an algebraic expression. The expression is m – 2.

  5. Example 2 Write the phase five years less than her aunt’s age as an algebraic expression. The expression is a – 5.

  6. Example 3 Sheri made a certain number of bracelets for the craft fair. Mika made 5 less than three times the number of bracelets that Sheri made. Write an expression to represent the number of bracelets Mika made. The expression is 3b – 5.
