  1. Canadiancarshipping When it comes to transporting your vehicle, you need to make sure it is ready and in a condition to be shipped away. It's easy to forget about the common things like oil leakages or battery health that needs to be checked and fixed before the transport. So if you have a vehicle that you need to ship somewhere, here are some tips on how to prepare it before transport. 1. Take it to a Mechanic for Checkup:  Make sure that all the car systems are working properly before you ship them off. This is very important because if something goes wrong during transport, the transport crew can have a hard time moving it around when loading/unloading other cars. The first thing to do is to get your car checked by a mechanic. Have the brakes, fluids, battery, tires, and engine checked to ensure there's no problem. Also, be sure to inspect for any loose parts that may come off during the transit and get lost on the highway. Wash it thoroughly to remove the dust and grime that could have accumulated over time. This may seem like an unimportant step, but it is one of the most crucial ones. • The reason is that you can clearly see any dents, scratches and other damages on the car after a wash. You can take photographs and prepare an inspection report before shipping the car. This way, if the car gets damaged during the transit, transporter won't be able to say that they received it like that. • 3. Remove Personal & Valuable Items From the Car: • Make sure your car doesn't have any of your jewelry or important documents inside that can cause a problem for you if lost or stolen. Furthermore, if you have a GPS device and/or a video player, you should remove and store it in a safe place like the car's trunk. • It is important because you won't be compensated if these items get stolen. The cargo insurance only covers the car with its stock accessories, not the add-ons or personal items inside. • 4. Disable Alarm & Remove Toll Tags: • If your car has an active alarm system, be sure to deactivate it before shipping. This is because the car's alarm can go off during transit when the transport crew moves it around to load/unload other cars. • Furthermore, remove the toll tags because when the trailer passes through the toll, it is likely that the toll tag on your car may pick up the fee. To avoid any unnecessary expenses and headaches, it is better to remove or deactivate the toll tag. • 5. Have a Set of Keys Ready: • Be sure to have a copy of your car keys made before the carrier arrives to pick up the car. Give that copy to him so that he can move the car up and down the ramp whenever needed. • Furthermore, do not put any boxes or items on the driver's seat or near the pedals because they can obstruct the carrier's way when he's moving your car.
