Theodore Sumrall has more than 30 years of experience in domestic as well as international industries related to chemical, geothermal, oil and gas (upstream, onshore and offshore, midstream and downstream), petroleum, renewable energy, precious metals mining, and defense.
Theodore is a graduate from Brigham Young University and also holds Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He won a full government scholarship for Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tokyo. (The university is listed as one of the top ten globally ranked University for Chemical Engineering).The scholarship valued $320K over the period of 1995-1998.
From 2004 to2006, Theodore Sumrall worked as the Adjunct Professor of Engineering at University of Florida. He worked as a liaison between the US and international universities, research laboratories and private industry in identification, funding, and transfer of technologies of mutual interest
Later in 2007, he joined the Institute of Energy Independence and worked as the VP Engineering and F&A for 5 years. Theodore was responsible for - • R&D of novel renewable power generation technologies including: geothermal; solar; thermal; pyrolytic gasification; and waste heat recovery. • As the Chief Engineering Officer, he developed unique “closed loop” geothermal technology, which does not require indigenous water supplies. Also in charge of projects ECM and associated F&A for projects.
