Before the mid-twentieth century, it was common in and out of the church to equate birth control with suicide, murder, and adultery.
Martin Luther Birth control is “a most disgraceful sin. It is far more atrocious than incest and adultery. We call it unchastity, yes, a sodomitic sin.”
Augustine Birth control is “an evil deed. Those who do this, although they are called husband and wife, are not; nor do they retain any reality of marriage, but with a respectable name cover a shame. Sometimes this lustful cruelty, or cruel lust, comes to this, that they even procure poisons of sterility.”

But if you’re not actually killing anybody, how can it be so bad to God? ?
But, by preventing birth for these reasons, the value of these things is made paramount to the value of human life itself!

How much do you love that person? How much moredoes God love that person?
When we realize how precious each life is to God, we can see the ramifications of preventing even one human life… …and how taking human life and preventing it aren’t that far apart.
Who are we to deprive God when the Psalmist says that the fruit of the womb is His reward (Ps. 127:3)? What treachery to choose the existence/non-existence of another human life!
How can we rob God for any reason when the Psalmist says that children are His inheritance (Ps. 127:3)? How casually we interrupt the affectionate work of God crafting each human soul in the womb(Ps. 139:15)!

In Revelation, we see Satan himself as a dragon attempting to kill the newborn man-child who is the Christ!
