  2. RIGOR • rigor : the difficult and unpleasant conditions or experiences that are associated with something • : the quality or state of being very exact, careful, or strict • Mr.Warnock wants to see academic rigor in all of the teacher’s lesson plans.

  3. EMPATHY • : the feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions : the ability to share someone else's feelings. • When my friend’s mom died, I felt empathetic because I was also sad.

  4. FUNDAMENTAL • : forming or relating to the most important part of something. • In order to read, it is fundamental that you know your alphabet first.

  5. MENTOR • someone who teaches or gives help and advice to a less experienced and often younger person. • After college, her professor became her close friend and mentor. • He needed a mentor to teach him about the world of politics. • We volunteer as mentors to disadvantaged children
