  1. The Fling n’ Sing By: Genevieve Fontaine, Susan Gonzalez, Rachael “Bunny” Smith, Stephanie Triplett

  2. The Goals of Our Experiment • To play classical music between two robots • To catapult an object • To pick up an object • To sense an object • To return the object to its starting point

  3. First Part: The Catapult • Purpose: To throw a ball into hoop • Includes: 1 RCX, 2 touch sensors and 1 motor • Also plays Fur Elise and Beethoven’s 5th.

  4. Second Part: The Hoop & Ramp • Purpose: to catch ball, finish Beethoven, direct ball onto ramp and deliver it to the 3rd Part, a transporter • Includes: 1 light sensor, 1 RCX and Duct tape

  5. Third Part: The Transporter • Purpose: to return the ball to its starting point • Includes: 1 RCX, 3 motors, 1 light sensor, 1 lifting arm

  6. Difficulties • Catapult: programmed to deactivate when arm triggers touch sensor, which did not always occur. Positioning was a problem. SELF DESTRUCTION OFTEN OCCURRED • Hoop: direction and sensing of the ball • Transporter: programming, alignment, movement and mechanics of the arm all made the transporter the hardest part of this project
