Objectives Create a PowerPoint Presentation which includes the following elements and formatting: • Select a document theme • Add a background style • Apply Quick Styles to placeholders • Change slide layouts • Create a title slide and text slides with single- and multi-level bulleted lists • Adding a Transition between slides
GettingStarted – Slide #1 • Create a 5 slide Presentation which consists of the following elements: • Slide 1 is a Title Slide Layout with the following title: “A World Beneath the Waves” • Slide 1 subtitle is: “Spring Break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico” press enter for a new line and type the following text: “Presented by Your Name, SGA President” • Change the slide design theme to Flow and the background style to Style 7 • If you need help with changing the slide layout view slide 15 & 16 of this presentation • If you need help in changing the design theme review slides 17 & 18 • For help with background styles review slides 19 & 20
Slide #2 • Add a new slide which is Title and Content Layout • Type the following Title to Slide #2: “Package Highlights” • Add the following text in the text placeholder of slide #2 (should be a single level bulleted list): • Four nights at the Azure Seas Resort • Breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner, and snacks • Two large swimming pools • Round-trip airfare and hotel transfers • Daily activities, including water sports
Slide #3 • Add a new slide which is Two Content Layout • Type the following text for the title of slide #3: “Rates and Booking” • Create a multi-level bulleted list which contains the following text in the left placeholder: • Only $495 double occupancy – level 1 • Non-diver rate: $275 – level 2 • Single occupancy: add $150 – level 2 • Nonrefundable $150 deposit required – level 1 • Due by October 1 – level 2 • Travel insurance highly recommended – level 1 • If you need help creating a multi-level bulleted list review slides 21 & 22
Slide #3 - continued • In the right placeholder click the “Insert Clip Art Icon” and search for “scuba diver” from all media types (clip art, photographs, etc.) • Select the picture shown below.
Slide #4 • When you are finished with slide #3 add a forth slide that is Title and Content Layout • Type the following title for slide #4: “Snorkeling and diving” • Create a multi-level bulleted list as shown below: • Three days of two-tank boat dives – level 1 • Weights and tanks included – level 2 • Instructors available for beginners – level 3 • Various locations based on diving skills – level 1 • Spectacular underwater wildlife and landscapes – level 2 • See squids, sea turtles, snakes, barracudas, and stingrays – level 3
Slide #5 • Add a new slide which will be of Title only layout • Type the following text for the title of slide #5: “A World Beneath the Waves”
Quick Style • Apply a Shape Quick Style, Colored Fill – Accent 3 to the title of slides 2, 3, and 4.
Slide Transitions • Now that all your slides have text on them the final step in creating this Presentation will be to add transitions. • Apply a transition of your choice. • For help with transitions, review slides 25 & 26
Upload to Slideboom • Go to www.slideboom.com • Create an account and upload your presentation • Under Tags, give your presentation the following tag: KMSCompAps. This will allow others in the class to easily search and find presentation for this class • Under Topic, select Education for the list • Leave all other fields at the default setting
Changing the Slide Layout • Click Home on the Ribbon to display the Home tab • Click the Layout button in the Slides group on the Home tab to display the Layout gallery • Click the desired layout from the list of options to apply that layout
Choosing a Document Theme • Click Design on the Ribbon to display the Design tab • Click the More button in the Themes gallery to expand the gallery, which shows more Built-In theme gallery options • Click the Flow theme to apply this theme to Slide 1 and all subsequent slides within this presentation
Choosing a Background Style • Click Design on the Ribbon to display the Design tab • Click the Background Styles button in the Background group to display the Background Styles gallery • Click Background Style 7 to apply this background to all the slides
Typing a Multi-Level Bulleted List • Click the bulleted paragraph text placeholder • Type the text for level 1 and then press the ENTER key • Click the Increase List Level button in the Paragraph group to indent the second paragraph below the first and create a second-level paragraph • Continue typing text for each line and clicking the Increase List Level to create a lower level paragraph • Click the Decrease List Level button in the Paragraph group so that the second-level paragraph becomes a first-level paragraph. This creates a higher level paragraph.
Adding a Shape Quick Style • Select the Title text placeholder • Point to the Quick Styles button on the home tab. • Click Colored Fill – Accent 3 • Click outside the shape to deselect it
Adding a Transition between Slides • Click the Animations tab on the Ribbon and then point to the More button in the Transition to This Slide group • Click the More button to expand the Transitions gallery • Transitions are grouped by Fades and Dissolves, Wipes, Push and Cover, Stripes and Bars, and Random transitions. • Holding your mouse pointer over each transition will reveal a screen-tip with each transitions name as well as showing a preview of that transition.
