  5. The Engineering Hub – Designed by Engineers, for Engineers A New Approach… The first purpose-built School of Engineering to be created in the UK for more than 20 years. The development is a collaboration between the University and Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd. as part of a £37M development with support from HEFCE, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and part funded by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC).

Product Training in the Engineering Hub Siemens has located it’s customer and staff training school at the University campus in the Engineering hub and will continue as an operational department but also dedicating time to undergraduate training • Product Training will remain a Siemens function but will benefit from operating in a higher education environment in purpose built premises • Product Training courses to be accredited by the University and Engineering Institutions with a view to awarding of CPD/CATS points for short course completion.

  7. Siemens University Training Centre – First weeks • Opening on the 22nd of August the new training centre welcomed 141 SIT employees for tours during the week of the 5th of August. Many thanks for those who were able to make it across and for the positive feedback we received. • In the first 4 weeks:- • 10 training courses • Over 60 trainees • From SIT and Siemens organisations in Mexico, Brazil, Algeria, US, Canada and Dubai. • Week commencing 19th September we welcomed our first customers arriving from Petronas, Malaysia • Excellent feedback and improved rating for satisfaction following the relocation

World Class Research on the Door Step • Siemens will donate it’s atmospheric combustion facility to the University of Lincoln to provide post graduate research ability. • 4 highly application driven project specifications have already been created and released for research programmes in combustion, remote monitoring & data management, and high-speed coupling vibration • Cost of Projects and Savings
