How To Use Lecture Hall Technology In the Colleges of Medicine & Nursing. Module One The Basics:
How Do I Turn This Thing On? On the bottom of the Crestron touchpanel there is a toolbar. On this toolbar is a button labeled “ON”, press it. The button’s color will change from green to red. The projector will begin warming up and the projector screen will come down. It will take about 45 seconds for everything to happen.
How Do Choose What I Want To Project? As you push any one of these buttons it will become highlighted. This indicates that you have chosen that particular source. Once you have chosen the source, it should appear in the large window below the buttons, and project on the large screen. On the top left of the touchpanel you will find a row of buttons with source names on them.
It’s Too Bright In Here; How Do I Dim The Lights? On that same toolbar where we found the “ON” button, resides the lighting presets. They are from left to right: Off, Low, Medium, High. The lighting was designed to ramp slowly, so your eyes aren’t shocked. Once you have pressed the button, it will take a couple of seconds for the change to happen.
I Can’t Hear Anything When I Play A Video Tape, How Do I Turn Up The Volume? On the bottom right side of the before mentioned toolbar is a small horizontal gauge with blue up and down arrows. This controls the volume for VCR, DVD, and any PC/Laptop audio. It does not control any microphone volume. We’ll learn about that in the next module.
OK… I Can Turn It All On! I Can Choose A Source To Project! I Can Choose A Lighting Preference! I Can Adjust VCR, DVD and PC/Laptop Volume! All that with just a few pushes of my finger…. Cool!
I Almost Forgot…One Last Thing. If there is another lecture following yours, please leave everything on. If the students are leaving for the day or even just for lunch… Please press the “OFF” button on the toolbar. It will help to extend the life of the equipment. Thanks,USF Health AV
