NDSP Navy Drug Screening Program (NDSP)
NDSP Locked out of my NDSP program • Fax a "By Direction" or Letter of designation or Command Collateral Duties list identifying you as the Primary UPC (Not Assistant UPC) to: • Fax # 901 874-4228 DSN 882-4228. • Include return phone number. Once the letter is received, a NADAP staff member will verify that the member is the Primary UPC and call the member back with the password.
NDSP Random Test but the software selected 0 members to be tested a . If you have your testing parameters set to select by a percentage and the pool you are testing has less that 40 members then this case can sometimes happen. You may have set the software for 10% and expected 4 names to be selected but got no names instead. For smaller pools it is recommend to set your testing parameters to select by total number instead of by percentage. If 40 members and you want 10% then set the count to 4. b. Also, it could be that you do not have your days to test option set up realistically for your command. Select Pool Maintenance. Then look at the "per month testing info" and verify the information is realistic. The function of this option is for the computer to break down the percentage of personnel to be tested over the amount of days to test. Therefore, if you only have 100 people in the command with days to test set at 30 and percentage set at 20%, you may not get any people when you run a test. This is because the program is breaking up 20% of 100 people over 30 days. Change your days to test to something like two or three days. You may want to discuss this with your CO or XO since they may have a certain number of days they want to test.
NDSP Do I have to back up my database every time I log out of NDSP? This can only help you. You never know when your database may suddenly become corrupted. Having a recent backup will help you to restore your database with your most current information.
NDSP How do I restore my Database? • Select Utilities from the main menu (or the System Utilities button) • Select System Backup and Restore (or System Backup/Restore) • Select the Restore tab • Select the folder location on the drive where the database file is located. • Select the backup you wish to restore. • The backups are dated, so select the most recent one or the one that matches the date sent. (Ex: 12032007.dtp) • Select the Restore icon. • At the top of the window are two small icons. One is grayed out. The other is a piece of paper with a red arrow; this is the Restore icon. Then just follow the prompts, and the database will be restored.
NDSP • I have just had the NDSP software (5.2.6.1) installed to a new machine but am unable to restore my database from a backup file. I am getting an error stating that Restoration cannot be completed because the file is from an earlier/older version or corrupted. How can I restore my data? • Use WinZip and manually unzip the DTP backup file to the “C:\Program Files\DOD Drug Testing Program\Data” folder. You will overwrite all files that presently are in the folder. The program must be closed to perform this operation. Be aware that the user and password files will be overwritten so that to log in after the restore you must know your user name and password that was in use at the time the backup file was created.
NDSP How do I change information on my DD 2624 after I have already generated my test? Once a test is generated no changes can be made to the DD 2624 with the exception of the backside. It is best to make sure all your information in your Pool Maintenance and System Parameters is up to date before generating the test.
NDSP How do I re-print any or all of my documents for testing? • From the main NDSP screen select Testing from the main menu. Select Re-print Products. System Parameters Screening Day Selection • Manually Choose Screening Days: This option allows the site to decide what days are Screening days. • Computer Chooses Random Screening Days: With this option NDSP will randomly determine screening days for your command. With this option enabled NDSP will determine if “Today is a screening Day”. This is determined each time the Conduct Random Testing button is selected. If not a screening day the user is notified and screening is not allowed for the selected pool. This option adds another level of randomization to the screening process because no one, including the tester, will know when screening will be conducted until the NDSP program declares the day a screening day. NOTE: In order for this option to be effective, a site will need to click the ‘Conduct Random Testing’ button on the main menu every day for each pool. • If your command’s policy is to conduct random screening at the Commander’s discretion, then leave (Computer Chooses Random Days) unchecked.
System Parameters Randomization Method - These options are set according to site requirements. • Selection By Percentage method selects personnel based on a monthly percentage. • By Total Number method chooses an exact number of personnel each time random testing is conducted. By Percentage • The percentage method means if 10% is the value entered then each member in the selected pool has a 10 % probability of being selected. It does not mean that 10 % of the pool is selected. • Count (Default Test) This is the exact number of members randomly selected for testing. • After selecting the randomization method here at this screen the actual percentage or count values are entered on the Pool Maintenance screen in the “Per Month Testing Info.” Block. NOTE: The percentage or total count value will re-appear on the Pool Management screen each time a New Pool is created saving the user the trouble of having to re-enter the data every time a new pool is created.
