  1. Lamezia Terme Lamezia Terme was created on fourth January 1968 from the union of three municipalities: Nicastro, Sambiase and Sant’Eufemia .

  2. It is the third most inhabited in Calabria. It is in the central part of Calabria and it is located in the eastern border of the coastal plain called<<Piana di Sant’Eufemia>>

  3. The name of the town partially derives from the river Amato once called Lametos. The word Terme comes from the Baths of Caronte

  4. Lamezia Terme plays an important role in the economy of the area. It has an Internetional Airport, (the most important in Calabria) and a central railway station.

  5. Domenico Among the many historical treasures that you can visit in Lamezia there are The Norman Castle, the Benedictin Abbey and the Bastion of the Knights of Malta

  6. Lamezia terme has a deeply rooted agricultural tradition, in the Sambiase area, known for the production of various typically Mediterranean crops. The most widespread production are: the olive tree, screw, chestnut and beech wheat, oats and maize

  7. Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.It was founded by the Countess Eremburga around 1100, in Norman style. It was destroyed by the earthquake of 1638, it was rebuilt even larger, in Baroque style
