Faithfulness to GodDaniel 6Message 4 on our series in Daniel Sunday, May 11, 2008 Speaker: Phil Hainaut
Do you do all that you do to the best of your ability for God? • Have you considered how God might use you in political structures through participation or prayer? • Are you striving to be all that you can be for God regardless of your circumstances? • Do you truly deserve to be promoted in life based on your faithful work ethic? • Has your work ethic been consistent as you grow older? • Could anyone accuse you of being corrupt or negligent rather than trustworthy before the government , your boss or your teacher? • Could anyone find grounds to accuse you of living out God’s law in your life?
How easily swayed are you by numbers, titles, and the right words? • How vulnerable are you to flattery? • Do you tend to make impulsive decisions? • Do you have specific times, places, and postures for daily prayer? • Is thankfulness always a theme of your prayers? • Are you a public Christian who takes risks so others may know your God? • Is it your automatic reflex to ask God for help for all issues of life? • Are your spiritual habits so visible to others that they could use them against you? • Have you followed the world in viewing other nationalities or lower income groups with hateful pride?
Are you such a servant, friend and asset to those you work for that they would do anything to defend or keep you? • Do you courageously risk to stand with the oppressed for justice? • How conscious are you that you have a real enemy who is tirelessly trying to destroy you? • How much are you willing to suffer in our love for God and testimony to the world? • Could people around you everyday say you serve God continually? • Do you ever do things for God in such a way that God has to show up? • Do you believe that a faithful death is as powerful as a miraculous rescue? • Is your soul distressed today because of the pain caused by your mistakes? • Is your soul distressed today because God is hounding you through the testimony of others?
Again, do people around you everyday recognize you as a continual servant of the living God? • How many people will know God as the living God because of your life and death? • Are you gracious with those who hurt you? • Do you faithfully tell others about all God’s rescues in your life, and especially your salvation? • If you are seeking a temporal rescue, do you have faith and a godly life? • Have you been rescued from your sin and from eternal death and punishment by placing your faith in Christ? • Have you turned to Christ from a life of sin to escape eternal punishment? • Do you ever find yourself believing that your sin hurts only you? • Are you a faithful witness for God so that he can reveal himself to others through you as the living, sovereign God who saves eternally?
