How College is Different • Class & Study expectations are different • Less time in class means more time spent outside of class studying! • Attendance and participation in class is often graded. • Teachers won’t tell you what notes to write down. They could provide outline of notes! • Group projects are regular assignments in classes. • The SYLLABUS!

  3. How College is Different • Testing… • Professors don’t always have review sessions in class. SI sessions are a must! • You can’t make up tests if you don’t do well • Good grades on assignments do not affect your test grades but exams may be graded on a curve. • Final exams are often cumulative

  4. How College is Different • First time living on your own? • New friends and possibly living with a roommate. • New city. • New activities and extracurriculars. • Possibly a new job and managing money on your own!
