ex: The man (who, whom) she thought was perfect jilted her. • a. Isolate the clause which contains who or whom. • (who, whom) was perfect
b. Substitute the word he for who and him for whom. • he was perfect or him was perfect
1. (Who, Whom) should I call in case of emergency? • d. Sometimes you will have to rearrange the clause into normal word order as in #1. • ex: I should call (who, whom).... • I should call him.....thus, whom is correct in the first sentence.
