Hunting tourism • specific form of tourism • in Czech literature: • references to its classification among some of the forms • Petrů (2007) considers hunting tourism as a specific form of tourism • The Explanatory Dictionary (Zelenka 2014) considers hunting tourism as an outdoor recreational activity outside buildings • toolof game protection andthe use of natural resources, which is crucial especially for rural regions (CIC 2008) • special form of eco-tourism (FACE 2004)

Advantagesof hunting tourism • conservationofecosystem – regulationofoverpopulatedwildlife; • substitutionof potentially destructive land use with wildlife management as a form of environmentallyfriendlyland use; • incomegeneration and employment in poor and disadvantaged areas; • directbenefits for the rural population – monetary, nutrition, jobs; • economicand wise use of habitats which are not well suited for agriculture and conventional tourism; • buildingawareness amongst the local population regarding the value of wildlife which is otherwise onlyregarded as harmful, a nuisance and a cost; • lessnegative impacts on the environment in comparison with other forms of tourism; • lesspoaching through the concerted efforts of all who are interested in the revenues generated by huntingtourism.
