Film Noir’s target audience from age to gender can vary depending on the Film. • What age are Film Noirs aimed at? • Information from ‘BFFC’ website • 15 age rating contains: • Language-Frequent use of strong language that is often repeated and is quite aggressive. • Sex/nudity-Sexual content is consisted within a 15 film, however it is mild. • Violence-May be strong, however more discreet compared to an 18. • Example of 15 Film Noirs: • Shutter island, The Godfather, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Brick, and many more. • 18 age rating contains: • Language-Strong use of language. • Sex-Strong sex scenes and nudity. • Violence-Heavy use of violence. • Example of 18 Film Noirs: • Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Fargo, Se7en and many more. • It is argued that Film Noirs also aim for an older audience due to the complexity of the narrative, due to the idea that they have a better understanding of the twist and turns that are within a Noir. Where the young generation may be attracted to violence and actions of the film that is commonly included.

  3. What is my Target audience for my Film Noir? I think that our trailer is aimed for 15+ audiences, as young teenagers will be interested with the action, as well as the twist of the narrative. However I think that it would appeal to older people due to the complexity of the plot, they are able to understand or grasp it much better, then those who are 12 years old and under. Me and the group visualise what our film would be like, there would be violence and strong language, which is why we also think it should be classified as a 15. Me and the group also agree that stereotypically our film will aim a male audience, as stereotypically Film Noirs aim at male’s due to elements of sexism with the female characters; however our film does not focus on any female characters, but me and the group have discussed that it will still be aimed at a male audience, as we think they would prefer the narrative, and the action included. However the film is not restricted for females, and they are still able to watch it. Our target audience
