  4. OVERVIEW • What is technology, and how can we use it to our advantage? • Do we loose details with technology? • How can we use technology to find out about our family history?

  5. What is Technology? • Tech⋅nol⋅o⋅gy- the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.

  6. Advantages of Technology It is easier to ACCESS information. It is easier to STORE information. It is easier to TRANSFER information. It is easier to COMMUNICATE with people who live in other areas. IT MAKES OUR LIVES EASIER!

  7. Do we lose details with technology? • Text Messaging – It is used for quick and to the point information • E-mail- It is used for a quick conversation at your convenience. • Websites- They are used for quick information about a certain subject, store, company or pretty much anything else.

  8. Finding your family’s History • Ask your elder family members or just get on the Internet. or

  9. Try some of these: • Ancestry • Heritage • Family Pursuits • Family
