  3. SENSE ORGANS • Eyes • Ears • Nose • Tongue • Skin • These are the five sense organs.

  4. FUNCTIONS OF THE SENSE ORGANS • Eyes =to see • Ears =to ear • Nose=to smell • Tongue =to taste • Skin =to feel

  5. ANTS • As ants move, they leave a smell on the ground. The other ants follow the smell to find the way.

  6. DOGS • Dogs can make out if another dog has come into their area by smell of its urine or potty.

  7. Birds • Birds have fixed eyes on either side of the head .Their eyes are fixed and cannot move. So birds turn their heads to see around.

  8. Snakes • Snakes do not have external ears.They only feel the vibrations from the ground this is how the snakes hear.

  9. Lizards • Lizards are not seen in the house in the cold season because they go into deep long sleep during this season.

  10. Sloth • A sloth looks like a bear.It sleeps for 17 hours hanging upside down on a tree branch.it eats the leaves of the same tree on which it lives.

  11. Tiger • A tiger belongs to the cat family.It can see better at night.It has a sharp sense of hearing,smelling and eyesight.Its roar can be heard upto 3kms away.

  12. We can understand sounds of some animals. • Example: • Dog • Cat • Cow • Birds • Goat etc

  13. Some animals can understand our language • Example Dog Cat Parrot Cow Dolphins Elephant etc

  14. PEOPLE WHO KILL ANIMALS ARE CALLED HUNTERS OR POACHERS

  15. ELEPHANT IS KILLED FOR ITS TUSK

  16. TIGER, CROCODILE AND SNAKE ARE KILLED FOR THEIR SKIN

  17. RHINOCEROUS FOR ITS HORN

  18. MUSK DEER FOR ITS MUSK

  19. PEACOCK FOR ITS FEATHERS

  20. Government has introduced a law to punish those who kill animals and birds and it has made sanctuaries for them to live in natural surroundings LAW TO PUNISH HUNTERS AND POACHERS
