What is CCAF? Canadian non-profit research and educational foundation with a focus on the public sector Mission: to provide exemplary thought leadership and to build both knowledge and capacity for effective governance and meaningful accountability, management and audit 2
CCAF’s Audit Training Program • 2006: Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors asked CCAF to develop a high quality public sector audit training program • Top priority: Courses on Performance (Value-for-Money) Audit • Two courses developed; will develop one new course a year going forward
CCAF’s International Program • International Legislative Audit Assistance Program for Improved Governance and Accountability • Administered by CCAF since 1980 • Funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
CCAF’s International Program • Has trained 186 auditors from 50 countries • Many have achieved senior positions • Emphasis on gender equity • Partners: • the SAIs of participating countries • Canada’s legislative auditors
