  2. Quick-Write • What are THREE things that Twain Satirizes in these two chapters of The Mysterious Stranger? • What Satirical Techniques does he use?

Examples of Satire (3-2-1) Work with your table partner to: • Find THREE examples of LAMPOON • Find TWO examples of BURLESQUE • Find ONE example of any other satirical technique • Create a grid in your notebook with four headings: • Target, Message, Technique, Concrete Detail • For each example, write down the CONCRETE DETAIL, the TARGET of the satire and the MEANING of the satire
