  4. How do symbols help us remember the past? This is a Passover, or Seder plate. Each type of food is a symbol of something in Jewish history. Sharing the Passover meal helps Jewish people remember these events in their history Unit 3A

Lamb bone Symbol of sacrifices made in the temple Egg Symbol of springtime Bitter herbs(horseradish) Symbol of the bitterness of slavery Charoset (fruit, nut and spice mix) Symbol of the bricks and mortar the slaves used in their work Greens dipped in salt water Symbol of springtime.
