Welcome & Introductions Everyone will introduce themselves. Please bring your camera up when you speak, so we can see your face. Discussion Board Grading POSTINGS-3 points total • Early entry into the discussion. Regular postings and responses to at least two classmates' postings. Regular and active participation in discussions. Earns 2-3 points. • Failure to post to discussion early enough to be actively involved; or fails to respond to two classmate's postings. Earns 0-1 point.
Discussion Board Grading RESPONSES-3 points total • Responses are substantial, original and creative; responses illustrate in-depth thought and/or reflection. Earns2-3points. • Responses are mostly flat, monosyllables; responses simply repeat what was already said or simply agree with others' opinions. Earns 0-1 point.
Discussion Board Grading CRITICAL THINKING-3 points total • Postings demonstrate that the student has a highly developed sense of inquiry and/or the ability to self-assess. Postings are consistently analytical, thoughtful, perceptive, and provide new insights (or raise new questions) related to topic addressed. Earns 2-3points. • Postings provide evidence that the student understands the content. Postings typically include brief restatements of readings and discussions and some evidence of personal stance. Earns0-1 point.
Discussion Board Grading SPELLING & GRAMMAR-1 point total • Postings are mostly grammatically correct and there are one or no spelling errors. Earns 1 point. • Postings are generally riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. Earns 0 points.
General Guidelines • Use approved headset • Power Outage Protocol • Technical Difficulty Protocol • Familiarity with Elluminate and Ecollege • Resources for Success • Using the classroom • Video camera: Keep in preview mode at all times, transmit when ready • Chat function should not be used during role play
Learning Activity In groups discuss the following questions related to chapter 1 in the text: • Group 1- What are the various roles of social workers? Identify the roles and give an example. Also, how you would rank them on the ones you prefer? • Group 2- Review the case study on page 11 and discuss the critical thinking questions to share with the class. • Group 3- Discuss the concepts of Knowledge, Values, and Skills defined in the text. Be prepared to share the concepts with the class.

Week 2 Overview • Milgram Experiment Video • Module 2 lecture, parts 1 & 2 • Review NASW Code of Ethics • Read Chapter 2 in your textbook • Complete Discussion Question 2 by Sunday at 11:59pm. • Your initial posting is due by Wednesday and your responses are due by Sunday.
