PetulancepeCHələnsnoun Other forms of the word: petulancy (noun) petulantly (adverb) Definition: Being childishly sulky or bad tempered in behavior; peevishness Example: The child took on apetulance tone when told she couldn’t have any candy. A good way to remember: Think of a pet, they have the tendency to act childlike.

Example: When it came to brushing his teeth, John was quite zealous, always checking to be sure his teeth were as clean as possible. A way to remember: SpongeBob is a zealous worker.
