EUG 01/02/2011 Activity similar to 2009 • 1230 job requests throughout the whole section, including • 260 designs (new or modifications) • 710 in-house MPGD and PCB manufacturing • 500 in-house assembly and repair • 55 external PCB manufacturing orders • 80 external assembly orders TE-MPE-EM some figures for 2010
EUG 01/02/2011 TE-MPE-EMNews New structure since July 2010: Move to TE-MPE, Fabio Formenti SL Design office: capacity increased by 2 since September 2010 Subcontracting: New suppliers in poorly balanced countries (DK, UK and GR) Building 107: Merge all activities from B102, B1 and B301 in a single and modern building, suited for surface finishing and PCB manufacturing. Project launched in Spring, MS in September, IT in December The study shall start in April 2011 for a finished building before the end of 2013.
EUG 01/02/2011 Building 107- project • DG stated that this project is a priority for CERN • Need more space for new detector developments and for new larger machines • Total floor Area of the building: 3200m2 • Renewed cooling and ventilation systems • Safety for environnement and personnel • Access control, alarms (fire and gas detection) • Opportunity for EM to be grouped in one building
EUG 01/02/2011 PCB manufacturing workshop • Investment of total 785 KChf in 2010-2011 to be able to manufacture large MPGD components (RD51) • Large developing machine (DR) • Large copper etching machine (DR) • Large stripping machine (DR) • Large laminator (ordered) • Large dryer (ordered) • Large oven (ordered) • Large exposure machine(OK) • Continuous Kapton etching machine(ordered) • Electro-chemical copper etching line(study) • All machines will be ordered by mid 2011
