Anecdote A short narrative account of an amusing, unusual, revealing, or interesting event Good anecdote has a single, definite point, and the setting, dialogue, and characters are usually subordinate to the point of the story Uses- to clarify abstract points, to humanize individuals, or create a memorable image in the reader's mind

  3. Plot Structure and relationship of actions and events in a work of fiction Parts of the plot diagram When the problem/conflict reaches the highest point Conflict being resolved Introduces characters, setting, situation How the story ends Conflict solved Conflicting points
