Features: bottom-up open call for proposals, shorter time to grants (6 months), small collaborative consortia (approx. 6 legal, independent and eligible entities), approx. 2.5M€ grant • Programming of missions in pillar 2 (definition and implementationinvolvesalso Member States and European Parliament) • Establishing the European Innovation Council (in Horizon 2020 a pilot): focusing on breakthrough and disruptive innovation including marketable innovation • Human stem cell research may be funded upon conditions • Actions under Horizon Europe shall contribute at least 35% of its R&I budget to climate objectives where appropriate • Actions awarded a Seal of Excellence certification:may get support from European Social Fund,Cohesion Fund, European Regional Development Fund, or European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development • Third countries/associated countries: still under debate and depending on the MFF budget discussions • Proposalevaluationbased on criteria: excellence (only criterion in ERC); impact; and quality and efficiency of the implementation.
