What Jesus Saw In Four Men Mark 2:3-5, “And they come, bringing unto him a man sick of the palsy, borne of four.And when they could not come nigh unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed whereon the sick of the palsy lay. And Jesus seeing theirfaith saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven.”

  3. What Jesus Saw In Four Men Four men who cared. Mark 2:3 • They forgot self and helped the paralyzed man. cf. Matthew 16:24; Philippians 1:21; 1 John 3:17; 1 John 4:20-21 • God cared John 3:16, and cares. 1 Peter 5:6 • We must care. Luke 10:30ff; Acts 2,4,6,8 etc.; Hebrews 10:24

John 4:28 • Scattered disciples preached the word. Acts 8:4 • Gospel spread throughout the world. Colossians 1:23 • Natural response. 2 Corinthians 4:7-13 • NOTE: These four men did not need healing, but they brought one who did need him. cf. Mark 2:17

  7. Jesus Also Saw Some Stumbling Blocks Those who blocked the door. • Did not make way for the paralyzed man. • Today some will not work, and will not get out of the way for others to work. cf. Nehemiah 5; 6:3, 10 • Criticize and complain. Galatians 5:15 The hypocrisy of the Jews. • Questioned Jesus’ authority to restore the man’s health.

  8. Jesus Still Seeking Men Like These Four • Men who care. • Those who try. • Those willing to work together. • Those who want to share Christ with others.
