  2. Let’s make a set of tangrams: a listening and learning to follow directions activity • http://mathforum.org/trscavo/tangrams/construct.html • Practice their listening skills • Review and discuss geometrical shapes and their properties • Develop visualization and spacial skills

  3. What can we do with the tangram pieces? • Put them back into a square. • Use them to make other shapes. • Connect them to Chinese culture and history. • Have the students create their own shapes. • Explore area, perimeter. • Explore fractions. • Problem solve.
