About the Leaf-Nosed Lizard • Can only be found in the Knuckles mountains in Sri Lanka • Can grow to about 8 inches long • Mainly eat insects • Reproduces by laying eggs • Only active during the day
About the Leaf-Nosed Lizard cont. • Found in very wet areas • Found at elevations of 700 to 1300 feet • Live in trees • Became endangered in 2006 • Very little is known about the Leaf-Nosed Lizard
Threats • Habitat loss due to • Coffee, Tea, and Rubber Plantations • Grazing live stock • Wildfires • Illegal logging • Pesticide use from these practices also has an impact on the lizards
