All federal and most Miami aid applies. • Co-sponsored: students directly enroll via a host provider, paying host program rates. All federal and Miami aid applies. • Approved: students directly enroll via a host provider, paying host program rates. Federal aid applies; Miami aid does not. • Students travel as individuals rather than in a MU group • Transfer credits; major courses or electives • Greater variety in courses and locations
Study Abroad and the Global Miami Plan • Global Perspectives (6 to 9 hours) • Study Abroad (any 6 hours fulfills requirement), or • G-Courses (9 hours), or • G-Clusters (9 hours) • Developing ‘well-rounded’ students • Discipline exploration; cross-cultural perspectives to major coursework • Building a Global University • Shared Futures
Petition Process • Global Perspectives • Study Abroad less than 6 hours? • Case-by-case; looks for depth of experience • Self-designed thematic sequences / capstones • Proposal sent to Liberal Education • Double-dipping? • Reporting transfer credit
