The theme of this year’s art show was selected by the 4th grade. • Kindergarten Funky Fish of the Great Barrier Reef • 1st Grade Australian Animals & Dot Painting • 2nd Grade Rock Art Hand Prints: Dot Painting & Dream Time Symbols • 3rd Grade Boomerangs: Dot Painting & X-Ray Style Painting, dream Time Symbols • 4th grade Dream Time Story Paintings • Studio Art Murals
Aboriginal Dream Time Mural by 3rd/4th Grade Studio Art The Aboriginals are the 1st people to live in Australia. They believe in the Dream Time, which is a creation time when their ancestors roamed the earth and helped create the land, animals, and people. The Dream Time Stories use symbols to represent elements of the story and explain how something came to be.
