  2. United State During The War • Started March 19-20th 2003. • George W. Bush was the president at the time, and Dick Cheney was the Vice President. • There are 47,000 troops in Iraq as of November 2010, 32,033 of those troops are wounded. • Captured Saddam and convicted him of charges from the 1982 killing and was executed December 30th 2006. • April 9th 2003 US took control over Baghdad.

Iraq During The War • Saddam Hussein was their president. • Ahmed Chalabi: Led the INC (Iraqi National Congress) it was formed by the aid and direction of the US government. • Ba’ath Party: Formed by Saddam meaning “resurrection” or “renaissance.” It mixes Arab nationalist and Arab socialist. • September 11th terrorists attacked the US and took down the Twin Towers, and the Pentagon.

  4. Cost’s The was has cost 406.2 billion dollars for American taxpayers for operation Iraqi Freedom. $3 trillion is the amount of money the Washington Post has reported the Iraq War has cost since 2008.

  5. Troop’s America got to a high of sending over 157,800 troops into Iraq, in 2009. 4,449 is the amount of American soldiers that have been killed since the beginning of the war. 113,616 is the amount of Iraqi civilian deaths (May 2003-August 2008).

  7. Ending the War • August 31, 2010: United States officially ends combat mission’s in Iraq. • 100,000 troops have been redeployed with only 50,000 remaining in Iraq until at least the end of 2011.
