Terminal Learning Objective • Understand the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) in order to support Soldiers and the transition process.
What is the ACAP Program? • The Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) is the central point of delivery for the Army Transition Assistance Program and the services involved. ACAP ensures all eligible Soldiers transitioning from Active Duty service have the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary to: • be competitive and successful in the global workforce through employment assistance (in collaboration with Department of Labor and other federal Agencies). • make informed decisions through benefits counseling (in collaboration with Veterans Administration). • ACAP fosters and promotes retention in all components. • It is ACAP’s commitment to: • prepare Soldiers for transition and reduce the number of stressors Soldiers experience during transition. • support the needs of deploying Soldiers, work to minimize conflict with unit schedules, account for Soldiers’ time and keep the command informed.
