  15. Processing Payments • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – also known as Automated Clearing House (ACH) or EFTPS (Elec. Funds Transfer Payment System) • Credit cards • Checks

Electronic Funds Transfers • If process on website: • Establish merchant or submerchant account with payment gateway (e.g., National EFT). • Gateway makes transfer directly to state bank account • Costs: $150 startup cost1.2% + 25 cents per transaction (35 cents for returns) • If process at state office, log into the gateway or upload a file to the gateway
