Summer Supersport 2007 North Devon District Council Course Information Welcome to the Summer Supersport Programme. This years programme includes over 50 courses, covering over 14 sports. Please find details below for some of the courses included. For further information on any of the courses, please call the booking line on 01271 388200. All courses held as part of the Supersport programme are run as fun, introductory, structured sessions. Climbing: An introductory course held at Pilton Community College Climbing Wall, suitable for any ability. Cycling: National Standard for Children Cyclist Training is a recognised course. Participants will be covering Level 1 or Level 2, and will gain an award at the end of the course. Those wishing to take the Level 2 course must have already completed Level 1. You must supply your own bike and safety helmet. Dance Taster: To introduce children to a mixture of dance styles in a fun, structured session. Mini Dance: (6 - 8 yrs) - Ballet, Modern, Folk Dance Dance for Fun: (9 - 11 yrs) - Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Song & Folk Dance Dance: (12 - 14 yrs) - Modern, Latin, and Old Tyme Dance Please wear shorts, t-shirts and suitable footwear. Gymnastics: (4-7 years) A fun course held over 3 days aimed at introducing young children to gymnastics. (8-12 years) A more advanced course for older children held over 3 days. Please wearleotard or T-shirt and shorts/ jogging bottoms. Kayaking: To include pool kayak to experience capsize drill and gain confidence, followed by a trip on the river in the afternoon. Please Note: You must inform the Community and Leisure Department of your swimming ability at time of booking. Pony Day (Beginners/Improvers): Structured riding lesson, stable management lesson & instructional hack followed by gymkhana & fun quiz. Pony Day (Intermediate): Counter hack and jumping. Skern Lodge Adventure Day: (Big 6) climbing, abseiling, high ropes, archery, assault course & pool kayak. Please inform the Community and Leisure Department of your swimming ability at time of booking. A Swimming costume and a towel will be required for the pool kayak session Surfing: Held at Saunton Beach. All participants must be able to swim 50m unaided. Please wear suitable clothing to all courses and take a drink with you. More information will be forwarded with confirmation of booked courses. Cancellation and Refund Policy: Refunds will only be issued if notice of non attendance is given 48 hours prior to the commencement of the course. NDDC may need to cancel courses for the following reasoning: 1) Insufficient Numbers 2) Weather 3) Any other Unforeseen Circumstances
