Project Description • Stormwater quality improvement/ groundwater recharge and urban greening project through the revitalization of existing public ROW. • Originated from SLA Green Alley Master Plan (2012) • Watershed: Impaired waterbody (LA River Watershed) • Simple Green Stormwater Infrastructure • Drywells + Pretreatment • Other possible components: permeable pavement, planters, swales, street trees • Located Near: Elementary school, mass transit stops, LAPD Station, Church Buildings

Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) • Stormwater and urban runoff is diverted from surface flows • Pre-treatment unit (bios-wale) removes trash and sediments • Bio-swales discharge to drywells to recharge the local aquifer • Underlying soils include Chino Silt Loam (0.81-1.0 in/hr infiltration) Bioswale + Drywell System North Avalon Alley Project (CD9)

  9. Estimated Budget Note: The local cost-sharing requirement may be waived or reduced for projects that directly benefit a DAC or EDA. For the DAC Involvement RFP, no local cost share is required. *Includes Contingency
