Origini e motivazioni • Nasce nel 2013 • È una iniziativa delle regioni basata sulla S3 Si definisce una “ bottom up & industry led initiative “ WHAT – a vanguard initiative of political leaders of regions that commit to the future for industry in Europe supported by smart specialisation, via the development of multi-level European investment and cluster initiatives for emerging and transforming industries in an Industrial Compact for Growth. WHY – need to deliver on jobs and growth and foster global competitiveness by investments in strategic priority domains for Europe’s industrial future (with a focus on new pilot activities). WHO – regions with strong industrial ambitions and smart specialization strategies for their structural renewal (beyond the ex-ante conditionality) HOW – by sharing information to initiate bottom-up vanguard initiatives, developing common roadmaps and multi-level approaches to stimulate investment and enabling local clusters with global potential to develop into world-class clusters WHEN – initiated to influence the European Council in February 2014 and future investment opportunities in priority areas for the future of industry in Europe.

L’impegno politico the “Milan Declaration” • Il 13 Novembre 2014 le prime 20 regioni firmano la Milan Declaration • In marzo 2015 la Regione ER firma la adesione • la vision si basa su un nuovo paradigma: • Mentre l’industria ha un ruolo guida nell’accelerare gli investimenti, • I governi regionali devono creare le condizioni • We, the political leaders and representatives of the Vanguard Initiative for New Growth through Smart Specialisation, commit to: • Supporting the setting up of interregional networks for co­investmentin European priority areas, e.g. the pilot actions for the Smart Specialisation Platform Advanced Manufacturing. • Facilitating access to combined funding for co­investment projects, taking advantage of better synergies between regional, national and European instruments. • Exploring solutions to leverage public­private investments through European Investment Bank / European Investment Fund, to support demonstration and piloting of new value chains in European industry clusters. • Working on implementation of smart specialisation strategies to foster better alignment between the regions, bottom­up cluster platforms and top­down European partnering initiatives. …..

11. 3D printed hybrid component Pilot Vanguard: 3D printing Additive Subtractive Platform High Precision & High Finish Production Tematiche per demo case 3D printed automotive components for large, medium, and small complex parts • ER è leader del demo case Hybridcomponents for Automotive • ER è leader del demo case exoprosthesis ( IOR -Bologna) • E’ stata approvata una preparatoryaction del PE • Rete pan-europea di laboratori e servizi 3Dprinting • SMEs presenteranno progetti con il finanziamento della DG • 10 progetti saranno finanziati Machinery, tooling and complex shapes 3D-Printed Customized Components for Orthosis, Exoskeleton and Exoprosthesis Mass-customised 3DP consumer products 3DP in Textile • Perché abbiamo preso questa decisione • Esiste un mapping completo ed interessante delle opportunità regionali • Le imprese interpellate direttamente hanno indicato queste priorità • La rete ha espresso con chiarezza la volontà di leadership

Nanowires for ICT and energy applications Pilot Vanguard: NANO Nano enabled Micro System for Bio Analysis (NeMs4Bio) Nano Enabled Printed Electronics Tematiche per demo case • ER co-leader con la regione Skania dal 2017 • Stakehoder del territorio assicura il supporto e interesse • Perché abbiamo preso questa decisione • Esiste un mapping completo ed interessante delle opportunità regionali • Proposte di nuovi Demo cases, aprendo una possibile area di networking alle entità numerose della regione

De-and Remanufacturing Pilot Vanguard: ESM Adaptive and intelligent assembly and manufacturing systems Tematiche per demo case • Partecipiamo al demo case DE RE con la partecipazione del MUSP • Si potrebbero realizzare N impianti di demolizione e ricostruzione di apparati distribuiti nelle regioni partecipanti (circa 20) Advanced Sustainable Surface and Coating Manufacturing Technologies on Polymers Digital and Virtual Factory integrating planning and stimulation into operative environments Energy-Flexible and resource-efficient factory operation • Perché abbiamo preso questa decisione • E’ una pilot centrale nel settore della manifattura • Il democase prescelto è centrato sulla economia circolare • La Rete ha dato il supporto specialistico • Potrebbe essere un Demo case che arrivare presto a finanziamento

Lignocellulose bio refinery Pilot Vanguard: Bio economy LNG Blue Corridors Bio-aromatics • La pilot è in fase di grandi cambiamenti i demo cases da oltre 6 sono stati ridotti a 3 • “BlueCorridor” per la valorizzazione del Bio metano Liquefatto • Sviluppo di componenti aromatici da biomassa • Raffineria da lignocellulosa Tematiche per demo case • Perché abbiamo preso questa decisione • E’ una pilot centrale nel settore della S3 regionale per la agricoltura per la presenza di imponenti quantitativi di biomassa da trasformare • È collegata ai progetti strategici svolti in passato Prosegue la linea di sviluppo sul Bio metano • Ha un buon supporto dalla RETE regionale
