TRAINING GIS Workshop at IIT, Kanpur Organized with IIT Kanpur (November 7, 1998) • Workshop for the awareness regarding GIS and Remote Sensing for the Resource Management was organized at the IITK. • The workshop was attended by the senior officials from the various departments of UP state, Railways, Department of Telecom, etc. • Over 75 delegates interacted in various sessions in a day long workshop. • An Exhibition for the leading technology providers were arranged for the benefit of delegates. (Ref: GIS@Development, Dec-Jan 1998 Issue)

  10. GIS Course certified by IIT, Kanpur held at Vadodara with IIT Kanpur and NRSA Hydrabad. (December 14-18, 1998) • With professional demands of GIS in the early stages of technology in state various officials of state government, public sector organizations and researchers were given training. • Training was provided by faculties drawn from IIT, Kanpur, & NRSA, Hydrabad.

  11. GIS Course with Department of Geography, M S. University Vadodara. (September 29- October 03, 2000). • With the demand of GIS training for the researchers and higher studies, a short term course was organized at M.S. University of Baroda. • The Course included basics of GIS, Remote Sensing and Global Positioning System (GPS). • Hands on training was provided to more than 40 participants from various departments, Municipal Corporation, Forest department and students. • Training was given by faculties from GEC, MSU, Space Application Center (Ahmedabad).

GIS Training for architects at L.B Hiray College of Architecture, Mumbai on 26th January 2001. • On the pretext of training to architects in GIS, a days training workshop was organised for the students of architecture at the college. • e-design Center of the college was encouraged to plan for the extensive training in GIS (3 months/1year course). • Course Guidelines were prepared for such training in future.

  13. GIS Training for Officials from Forest Department , Gujarat State (Vadodara Circle) 24th-30th August, 2001 at M.S. University of Baroda. • The expert professionals from SAC (Ahmedabad), NRSA (Hyderabad) and GEC engaged in training the officials. • The training included basics of GIS and Remote Sensing, including data generation, Topology and Manipulation. • It was attended by the senior and middle level forest officers from the department.
