Converter Functions C1 – Converter Module 1: Maps sounding information from RODF files into PRET MD files C2 – Converter Module 2: Calculates stability parameters C3 – Converter Module 3: Computes the gradient winds C4 – Converter Module 4: Merge GOES/POES MD and GRET/GWIN MD to make a new GOES/POES Skew-T MD file that have information on retrieval, wind and the stability parameters. C5 – Converter Module 5: Generate the SKEW-T gif and composite image files

Conclusion • Timely access to global sounding products via the web • Reused the code (C4 & C5) developed within the GOES products for the • POES products • Modular code was developed for the GOES and POES systems to be used • for other sounding products such as IASI and MIRS. • User familiarity between GOES and POES web pages
