Jennifer Mclelland This collection of work is formed on the basis of the Death penalty in America, as the use of the Electric chair is still in force, from the transformation of the chair to the cross this shows a transition from life to death. Untitled 2008, Untitled 2007
Joe Weldon koGG 2007 Sculpture of a symbol of a culture, The artist intended the work to be ambiguous in what it is created from polystyrene made to look like a hard, dense solid material. It also has been made to appear like a traditional important symbol yet the technology references such as numbers, wires and electronic parts conflict and contrast. Maybe it once had a important purpose, now defunct and dysfunctional for any use.
Lousie Smith Untitled 2007, Untitled 2007 This artist has created this piece of work from observing the celebrity obsession and the media’s need to influence people to be ‘Perfect’. This leads to the negative self image that the artist has created in these paintings.
Cherese Mohammed Untitled 2007 This work is part of a collective piece of which showed the simplicity of the Industrial and human relationship in its lowest form of decay with burnt scarps of wood and rotting meat. (Due to H&S meat has been removed)
Hannah Doyle Untitled 2007 This piece of work has been made to incorporate the critique of the cosmetic, this falls into the ideals of creating a ‘Perfect’ image of the body thus exacerbating the social decay of self image
Eleanor Matthews Piece No.1 2007 • This piece was chosen for the gritty, urban tones and because it uses an impressionist style painting technique with a contemporary urban content. This work is more associated with the aesthetics, and physicality of urban decay
Collective Images This gives you the opportunity to see the show if you didn’t get to see it yourself
