SUNG J HONG, DDS SUNNYVALE – PROSTHODONTIST AND IMPLANT DENTIST: Dr. Sung J. Hong is an American Board Certified Prosthodontist, a Fellow of the International Congress of Implantologists, and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Hong, DDS in Sunnyvale,  was graduated from the USC School of Dentistry with a D.D.S. degree, and received the Outstanding Achievement Award from USC and the O.K.U. Award from the National Dental Honorary Society. He completed his residency in prosthodontics at the UCSF Graduate School of Dentistry and holds an MA Degree in Educational Psychology. Dr. Hong teaches prosthodontics at the UCSF School of Dentistry as a course director and is a member of both the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Dr. Hong received the Thomas Curtis Teaching award from UCSF in 2014 and 2016. The California Dental Specialty Group specializes in the latest techniques for crowns, bridges, implant-supported restorations, cosmetic procedures, complete and partial dentures, complete mouth reconstruction, orthodontia, oral surgery, and periodontal treatment. Chou received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1982, and received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics from Boston University in 1988. He practiced both general dentistry and orthodontics in Massachusetts for a number of years before moving to Northern California and beginning his private practice in Orthodontics in 1996. Dr. Chou brings a wealth of experience in General Dentistry, TMJ, and orthodontics to the California Dental Specialty Group.

2. FAMILY DENTISTRY Kavitha Ravi, DDS in Sunnyvale. Dr. Kavitha Ravi obtained her Fellowship in Craniofacial Molecular Genetics and Stem Cell Research from UOP Dugoni School of Dentistry and went on medical missions to provide free dental care to cleft lip and palate patients. She received her DDS degree from UCSF School of Dentistry. She is a highly trained and experienced dentist with a warm and caring personality. She received her first dental degree from India and went on to complete a three year residency program in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. She has many years of experience practicing in India before relocating to the U.S.A. Dr. Ravi continues to stay up to date with the latest advancements in dental technology through continuing education programs and regularly updates her skill sets. Her goal is to provide highest quality of dental care to patients of all ages. She is an active member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Association, and American Cleft Lip and Palate Association. In her free time, Dr. Ravi loves to travel with her husband and son. She also likes to paint, cook and bike. GENERAL DENTISTRY AND PEDODONTICS Christopher S. Sugimura , D.M.D (Japanese and English spoken) Skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional patient care. As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship. Before starting his dental practice in San Francisco; Dr. Sugimura practiced in Boston And New York including a residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in New York. He has been a member of the ADA (American Dental Association) and he is currently a member of the CDA (California Dental Association) and SFDS (San Francisco Dental Society).He served as chairman for the New Professional’s Forum for the SFDS, and he is currently on staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center and serves in the Department of General Dentistry. Dr. Sugimura provides both the surgical and restorative phases of Implant dentistry. JOAN H. AQUINO,RDH Joan received her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Foothill College in 2003, she joined California Dental Specialty Group that same year. She is currently a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, California Dental Hygiene Association and the San Francisco Dental Hygiene Component. Her patients are fond of her and refer to her as the “Dental Hygienist with a Gentle Touch”. Joan was born and raised in the Philippines, but calls San Francisco her home away from home. She speaks fluently in Ilokano, Tagalog and English. Joan enjoys the sea and enjoys seeing the world by cruise ship, she also energizes herself by attending Zumba Classes several times a week and ballroom dancing occasionally.
