Dr Rajan Bir Singh Thind, BDS from Government Dental College, Patiala , Punjab, 1992. Has done Advanced Specialty Certification in Enzootics. Advanced Specialty Certification in Orthodontics from EADE Hungary. Special interest in Microscopic Enzootics in dentistry. Dr Thind presented his first research paper at Punjab State Dental Conference at Patiala in 1991 on the subject of Anodontia the paper was very well received by the evaluators. He has gained immensely from the various national & international conferences. He lectures extensively in various schools and colleges in Punjab on the importance of oral health and its awareness through his almost 20-year-old campaign, ‘Mission Smile’. Mission Smile has been a highly successful venture, considering that there are over 125 institutions like ICFAI & Franklin Institute of Air Hostess connected with his mission. Thousands of students, teachers, diverse institutes and people in and around Ludhiana have gained from his expertise and experience as a practicing dentist. Dr Thind was recently invited as a guest speaker at IDA Phagwara to present a paper on dental operating Projection video microscope, which was well received. With excellent support of his wife Dr Gurinder Kaur, Dr Thind is running three dental clinics in different areas in Ludhiana very effectively. In his conviction to advancement through technology, optimal use of computers and multimedia for patient education and staff training are routinely used. Dr Rajan Bir Singh is the first dentist to use Dental Operating Projection Video Microscope in Northern India. Thind dental clinic has a close association with Harvard School of Dental Medicine U.S.A & University of Manitoba Winnipeg Canada, for the Mission Smile project.
