  4. Mixed-Up Storyline • Read the story on the next slide. • Decide whether the story is in a logical order. • Think about ways to improve the story’s sequence.

  5. Mixed-Up Storyline Over time, the boy becomes a great hunter and warrior. After everyone leaves him, he cries himself to sleep. After many years, the mud pony leaves the boy, reminding him, “I am here, your Mother Earth. You are not alone.” He visits his mud pony every day. Then, the pony leads him to his parents. In the morning, he is surprised that the pony has come to life. Once, a poor Native American boy dreams of owning a pony and shapes it out of mud. Finally, he becomes chief. One day, he comes back to the village and everyone is gone.

  6. Mixed-Up Storyline • Read the story again. • Rewrite it in an order that makes sense. You may add to the story if necessary!
