2D to 3D-lines help create a sense of space in a photograph • Using lines in a photograph is an easy way to create a feeling of depth, space and the feeling of a 3 dimensional photograph. • The brain judges depth by comparing sizes, larger objects are near and small objects are far. • Parallel lines that meet in the distance, like train tracks, is a strong indicator of depth. (vanishing point) • Sharp objects within the photo will appear to be closer that out of focus objects. • Line should (if possible) lead to your subject.
Watch Out! • Try not to let the lines lead your viewer out of the picture.
Requirements: • Contact sheet • Two 8x10 prints • Spot for dust and scratches • Each of the images must be different use of Space/Lines • At least one should use rule of thirds, both if you can • You can include texture • Be Creative! • Think about the art show
