  2. Optimizing Images • Remember… • GIF supports only 256 colors, but does support transparent backgrounds. Usually the smallest file size. • JPG supports over 16,000,000 colors but does not support transparent backgrounds. Large file size. • PNG supports over 16,000,000 colors and also supports transparent backgrounds. File size varies.
