AGENDA • The Rhetorical Appeals and practice • 5-Column Vocab Chart • “Drugs, Sports, Body Image, and G.I.Joe.”
Rhetorical Appeal Practice • For this exercise, you and your partner must create a short argument from each row (a total of three arguments). You may only use each scenario ONCE. For example, if you want to use the “EMOTIONAL” appeal to convince your parents to let you stay out past curfew, then you cannot try to convince your parents using the “LOGICAL” appeal as well. • Each partner must write at least one of the short arguments in his/her own handwriting.
Test us! • Choose one of your three short arguments. DO NOT tell us which rhetorical appeal you are using. Read it aloud; the class should be able to discern which rhetorical appeal you were striving for.
HOMEWORK • Complete the Vocab Chart for Thursday!
